On the weekend of Friday 18th - Sunday 20th of September, thirteen Ardtornish students and their families participated in the 30th Australian HPV Super Series at Murray Bridge (Pedal Prix). This was Round 4 for 2015 and consisted of a 24 hour race commencing at 12pm on Saturday and finishing at 12pm on Sunday.
To celebrate the 30th year, there was a fireworks display on Friday night before everyone headed off to bed ready for a huge weekend.
Angus K started the race and Lachlan H was our final rider who had the privilege of being drenched with water at the end, as did I!s
We finished 31st out of 57 bikes in our Category 1 (primary school) by completing 216 laps. There were 4 red flags (race stoppages) totalling about an hour and a half, but our team had no major issues with the bike other than a need to change a tyre and put bag on a slipped chain.
I've really enjoyed being involved with the team this year and am extremely proud of the riders’ team work as they have gone way out of their comfort zone to pitch in  and support each other . They contributed a great deal of effort io keep the bike going during very warm days and freezing cold nights.
Riders for this year were Lachlan H, Lachlan D, Bryce B, Benny H, Scott R, Hayley R, Karl G, Cooper F, Joe M, Josh H, Fraser C, Troy P & Angus K.
For students entering years 6 and 7 next year, keep an eye out for more information about joining Pedal Prix in 2016.
